Needles on sunday

Good day one and all, hope we all had a good one and will have a better new year.

Me and a couple of friends are due to go out to the needles on sunday, weather permitting, in a mates boat and we are looking for some info on an area to throw the pick out. We normally go down Nab end, and had a good day there last sunday, but we fancied a change this trip.

any help much appreciated.

sadly cannot help with that end of the island as I never fish it.
The weather looks kind, so you you'll have a nice day hope the fish play ball.

the will a bunch of boats about 1 1/2 miles out from the needles and spread over about 3/4 mile , that area is called the car park. its a shingle/sand gully with patchs of rough scatted all over it. you will get whiting , cod ,conger and the normal vermin
fish very large baits(6-10squid or cuttle) with 10/0 hooks to avoid some of the vermin and pick out the bigger fish or baited feathers to get whiting,codling and tons of vermin

the is also a patch of rough 3 mile south of the needles(cant miss it on the charts), just potter round till you find a nice feature and fish it. hear the will be a lot more conger and less whiting, but still the chance of a cod and tons of vermin

il be out there as well tomorrow on wight reble, so fingers crossed on bagging up on loads of cod to finish the year of in style
