Dungeness Point - 21/12/07

Well, fished there 20th at the point by the boats. The reason was because the civil cervant comp was cancelled, but I went there to see what it was could have been. Used all combination of baits at various distances. For me and my friend's efforts caught a pin whiting and a small dab. Wind in our faces, and cold with a clear sky. Got warmer as the day went on. Lost a few big bites to a whole squid on a pennel rig. Totally missed the two hooks onthe rig, biting out the middle part. Nothing of note caught from the others fishing the point. Does the wind direction pay a part when fishing here? Still beats shopping with the wife! The sea Angler magazine got it wrong. The key is available every day fron Seagulls fishing tackle that is only a short drive away, and not just at weekends (for a modest sum). The money raised goes to clearing the beach of rubbish that some people leave behind. Seagull is one of the best shops I have visited - : Safe fishing and I still had my car for the two hour drive home. I could post photos but they would take up band width for no reason!

in my experience,the old adage of when the winds in the east the fish bite least more often than not rings true at dungie,
