| west bex late last night decided to go and see how west bex was doing last night wanted to get there early but after faffing about with some things that needed doing(dont you just hate christmas, but love late night shopping  )for high at 9.40 but got a bit delayed and got there sometime about 11.30 -12 to an empty carpark and beach and an easterly mm didnt bode well nice new carpark and fence though  but i was there and had bait so rude not to wet a line so buddy set up and away we go tide was well down and raceing had to go 6oz too hold, only 1 target so big squid and razor baits and added bit of lug too the mix as well, both rods on 4/0 pulley pennels doggiews were very much in evidence then had ratchet on left hand rod go    so grabbed rod and struck, nice weight all the way in especially in surf,mmm what is thisfound it too be a massive pout (guessed about 1 1/2 lb) but had foul hooked on pennel so acted like a kite all the way in  it was lovely and quiet with a fantastic shooting star display and i was quietly contemplateing life the universe etc when i nearly pooped myself as heard the gravel crunch and a set of eyes glared back dont know who was more scared after turned headtorch on too see i was being visited by a big dog fox  who was hoovering up left bait etcmanaged a crack off on rod as guess was getting tired and realised time was 2 am nothing really seemed to be happening so headed home powered by red bull  next time i'll get there before high  dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives Last edited by pingu; 12-14-2007 at 04:05 PM.     |
