Sorry - had meant to report back on this too .. I see it's in this month's Sea Angler, it's a Wilkinson Sword one, and it looked pretty much ideal for a dig. The only thing I was worried about was the great big plate they've welded on to the top of the tines to help you get foot pressure on it .. not sure if that would get in the way when you're going down to 2 or 3 spits deep.

I may invest in one anyway, as I've just pulled my old digging fork out of the shed, and it seems to be a little more worn down than I remember.

It's also got a lot of rough metal coating on it, and the points were a bit "pointy" lol - so it would take a few digs to get it really zipping through the sand.

HTH.

Re: Flatty Bashing - River Taw

ooh see the hard thing about flounder fishing here is....its not a river its a harbour used to produce lots of flounder years ago float fishing rag worm! great fun.
however they have built a bridge across the harbour now and placed a cill to stop the harbour emptying at low tide last year was the first winter with the cill and we caught flounder im just hoping they will come back over it again this year
i had them to over 3lb last year and on a carp rod and float fishing its great sport!
