expensive trip to budliegh

got home from work about 6 missus thought was working till 11 so guessed ok to go out fishing(as not supposed to be in), later find that this was not best shoice of mine.
grabbed some frozen bait and rods and box and ran off to budliegh
loads of people fishing, defrosted bait in the salty water, managed to catch two dogfish both which committed suicide after being put back by lying on the shingle too long, then in dark managed to step on top section of spinning rod SNAP!!!!!!!

now to sweet talk missus into getting new rod(fat chance)

the hunt for the bass continues

Re: expensive trip to budliegh

unlucky mate,
you might just be able to get a replacement end, we lived in australia for 2 years when i was little and on the way bk 1 of my dads rods got broken (the only thing which was broken on both ways) and the air line supplied a replacement end
worthj doing abit of investigating to save you getting a whole new rod

Re: expensive trip to budliegh

yip tis true! i worked in a tackle shop so can assure u that a stockist can request replacement butts / tips from the manufacturer. If its Daiwa, Shimano then u would be looking at about 65% of the RRP for a whole new rod so bear that in mind and just get a better rod if its not economically worth it! Thats sucks though - sorry to hear about ur misfortune mate.

Re: expensive trip to budliegh

unlucky mate i hate reading missfortune threads but this one has to be of the worst!! i broke three tips on my rods when i was young but never actully got round to fixing them as they where only cheep things and ended up buying second hand rods of my mate as he was well spoilt so i got them cheep!! i must say now days my casting is much beter and i dont even get close to lamp posts on the pier anymore!! lol wraped two rods round them and caught one in a door way as i was pushing my bike throught lol well i was young!!

good luck with the misses and if it works could you post your secruits on here so we know how to talk ours round? lol

oh yer have you thought about claiming it on your housing insurance? lol

Re: expensive trip to budliegh

rod is too shattered to fix (big boots and rocks dont mix)
going to try the alcohol method later with the missus, want new rod soon and bit too early for xmas.
if not its the old sneaky trip to tackle shop with overly flexible friend(the one she dont know about)
