pagham last night

morning anglers ,
well after me dan and scott planning a trip to chesil , had a phone call from a mate telling me about a closer mark thats fishing its nuts off for cod , so we changed venues (deadly) !!! ,arrived at pagham about 4ish and started fishing with the tide on the way out , didnt know how far as we have never fished this mark anyway ,it went out far shock , and picking up all the weed we decided to knock it on the head for a few hours , so out with the cookers and we had tea ,7.30 pm we started again , . When the darkness came in so did the fish , the beach was crammbed full of anglers all talking about the codling , we were getting quite a few bites , then i hit into this surprise fish .....



garfish , and a first for me from the shore , baits were lug ,black lug ,rag squid and mackeral , as the tide reached high the run was pulling everyone to the right , even with 5 oz grippers !!!!! so we batled away for our target species anyway one more fish for me .........



job done target species caught ,and another first for me codling from the shore , that was about it scott caught a pout and dan caught a cold shock , but it was the same all along, as the anglers we spoke to said you should have fished here last night typical !!!! , not many codling caught along the beach last night , a couple of 3- 4 lb bass caught by 1 angler and reports of some decent sole from the other end , but hey i caught my target species so was a happy little bunny !!!!!!!, i think we were fishing the wrong side of the sailing club but who can tell , both fish caught on rag only , with black lug and squid not even getting a sniff ! ill be back soon as this is a very good mark !!!!!!

Well done - also fished Pagham last night - 200 yards east of yacht club. Had 3 codling, 1 sole and 1 schoolie all on lugworms.

Where abouts were you fishing ?

looking out to sea lewis we were about 100 yards to the right of the sailing club ,wrong decision i think !!!

You must have had to have heard that awful music coming from the yacht club last night close up then.

Got down there at low water, few rods and anglers set up already infront of yacht club and towards the rocky groynes, more appeared pretty soon and a couple of guys on the sand at low water metal detecting.

you aint kidding "what a din" and they called that a band pmsl , we were fishing 1/2 way to the first set of groynes , the fella who was fishing the groynes showed me a pic on his phone of a 12lb 12oz cod he caught at ferrybridge the night before , no i wasnt jealous lol , a great venue lewis and ill fish it again soon , had a chat with a local who was collecting prawns in a net , and he reckoned the best place was roughly where you were fishing by an old water outlet, ill have to check that out !!!!!!
