| beaten back into the solent by the wind well we hoped to give a wreck ago for some big snottys, but on stepping onto the boat and hearing the coastgaurd say 4-5 incressing  7  at times we decided to fish the solent for some bass and rays and try to make the most of been out we started in soton water and got a bucket of mackerel then head on a ledge in the west solent and had few bream and plenty of poxy doggies , but no bass so we head to some banks and tryed for some nice rays and on the first drop my m8 ken got a small spotted ray (bonus first one if ever seen on this mark  ) then the doggies and bream came on the feed, so every one had some doggies or got there baits destoryed in seconds by the bream. as slack water came ken go another ray , this time a nice thornback of about 8lb , and half hour later i got a small one of about 5lb  at around 5ish the rain started so we head home and warmed up with a couple of pints  __________________ http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...xt80382370.gif     |

| Re: beaten back into the solent by the wind That weather worked for me this evening .... bass everywhere (2 at a time between 1 and 1 1/2lbs ... bruddy nuisance!). Plus five of these .... all around 2 - 2 1/4 lbs. 4 returned; 1 deep hooked .   |
