Kimmeridge Bay Dorset sea fishing

Kimmeridge Bay Dorset sea fishing - Well after a long drive ( 3hours !! ) set up my kit and started fishing

The Kimmeridge Bay mark is very rocky and at high tide you are fishing in 10-15 foot of water

The other guys were fishing three hook pat.. rigs with rag worm , but I went for a pully rig with one size 3 hook ( so I did not loose gear )

The guys totaly out fished me catching loads of small to very small wrasse ( 1oz-8oz) with about 40 between them

The bits came all day long with a slight pause for one hour at low tide

I stuck it out using fresh limpett to try and catch bigger wrasse but it did not happen - only got one of any size which was only 1lb

The day was hot with little breeze and there must have been every fly in the world for the first hour . A bit of kit was lost but thats rock fishing

In the evening some locals turned up and walked aroung the head a bit so that will be worth a look next time

Kimmeridge Bay Dorset overview
Rocky and if your into catching loads of small wrasse a good mark but like all rock marks you end up with a sore bum at the end of the day
