No big drop off at Eastney mate, it's a shallow venue. You could probably walk out 100 yards before losing bottom at low water and having been all over the area in a boat yesterday, I can confirm that there is 6 foot at low water and only 12 feet at high, half a mile out. (Granted, it wasn't a big tide).

Best Wishes.

Andy.

no real hard feelings mate, but try and give poeple a bit of space when you decide to fish next to them, you never know you might even set up on top of someone off hear and they will mention it on the site!
Where were you then - left or right of me ?

Re: Eastney - St Georges Rd 26/3/7

Its okay mate - I remember, the other guy was a Scummer so you must have been on the right. Wondered why you moved - there was at least 20 yards if not more between us and I camped where someone had just left ????

You saw how many were down there - 20/30 maybe ? Space was at a premium - Lucky you dont fish comps with 10 yards between !

... and anyway - Eastney Beach is for us Pompey boys & selected guests

... No photo - if I photo'd all my fish I'd run out of room and I already have a Plaice in the Species hunt - here is another photo of it for you

Hi Rich, I'm sure the downdraft scared away the fish - probably 30/40 foot up ? Was really a flypast - the RIB was travelling & the Helo above so seconds really ...

you set up from where i was casting from ,might have been 20 yards but more like 10/15 i was walking left and then casting due to the tide was realy pulling hard to the right , as you found out when you crossed me!
like i said no hard feelings.

Re: Eastney - St Georges Rd 26/3/7

None taken mate ...

But with the beach as crowded as it was, the luxury of walking 20 yards to cast was not possible .... in any case - how was I to know you were doing that ?

The tide always pulls like that at HW and if everyone casts in front of them there is never a problem !
