| Amazon pics January 2012 These from one of our happy clients from our last multi-species trip off the Guyana Shield in Northern Brazil. Great variety and some surprises also. Normally the larger species of Peacocks range from the lowland lagoon systems to riverine systems, but rarely from the highlands. Although we caught 100s from 6-14lbs during the week, this 18lb beauty was taken on a light Largemoth Bass lure with wire hooks!! ![]() This 19lb Payara was hooked on a Piranha cutbait jigged off the bottom in a deep Catfish hole. ![]() A Jandia Cat, the best eating fish in the river. ![]() And this little Piraiba (Filhote) of about 80-90lbs gave him a run for his money! They grow to over 400lbs. That would wake you up if you got a run from one of those while dozing in the shade! ![]() We are getting a group together for March this year to British Guyana's Amazon run-off if anyone is interested in coming. Similar species of fish with a few crazy ones still not named!! Great fun guaranteed!
