Looking for someone to fishing in Rio Negro Amazonia (peacock bass)

Hello everybody,

My name is Alexandre, I live in South of Brazil, I'm married for 6 years and I work with computers. I've been learning english very hard! Sorry my mistakes!

I'm planning to fishing in Rio Negro in Amazonas - Brasil, on november 2010. The most fish catched is peacock bass (tucunaré). There is a traditional way to fishing in the amazon on the "hotel-boat", but it's very expensive to me. I did discover another way more cheap, but not less interesting!

I will stay at a hotel in Barcelos (Barcelos is a city in the Amazon), and I get a local guide (I have very good references of him) who has a boat with an engine or motor, and he will take me to the fishing points, for 7 days. In the evening we will come back to the hotel.
My friend that would go with me, gave up. I thought, it would be great if I find someone who wants to go with me in this adventure, it would be like an interchange...I've been studying english a lot and it would be cool to know someone who speaks english and would like to know the Amazonia and fishing peacock bass and like the nature, of course!

If someone wants to know more about this subject, I am willing to give you all the informations about the city, the hotel, the local guide, telephone numbers, etc, etc...

I hope to find someone to sharing experiences...
Sorry my english mistakes...

Best Regards

Alexandre Vidal

Re: Looking for someone to fishing in Rio Negro Amazonia (peacock bass)

Thank you stud,

I was thinking about my message. I puted it on another forum on internet, and one person told me that it could be dangerous...hehehehe. Yes, I agree, it's true. But I already told my intention, so I decided to show the details for the fishing. Here is the website forum where I got the tip: http://www.turmadobigua.com.br/forum...php?f=4&t=9855

I'm a member on this forum. In this thread, André Viana (he went alone) told us about his fishing in a cheap way (not hotel-boat), and he made it like I describe for you. Mr. Dada is the local guide, he is 50 years old and he was born in Barcelos and he knows all the region! He is a very good person and reliable, like André said, I called and I asked him many informations and have a date with him on november. The hotel in Barcelos would be probably "Ornamental Hotel", it's a simple hotel, the staff is friendly and the breakfest is a little poor.

I live in Porto Alegre (south of Brazil) , and I need to go to Manaus (north of Brazil - Manaus is the capital of the state of Amazonas), from Manaus to Barcelos takes one hour by plane with "trip linhas aéreas" here: http://www.voetrip.com.br/. The fishing will be on november (the next season, the season is among october to march). Of course I could invite one person in Brazil, on that website forum (turma do biguá), but my intention is a kind of interchange...

With those informations, anyone can go to Barcelos, Mr. Dada gave his telephone and it's just enough to have a date with him.
Here is another thread where another guy got the tips from André Viana and went to fishing in Barcelos with his wife: http://www.turmadobigua.com.br/forum...hp?f=4&t=10212

Ok, that's it. If you want more information about it, just ask...
I hope you understand my english...

Regards

Alexandre Vidal

Re: Looking for someone to fishing in Rio Negro Amazonia (peacock bass)

Hey, thank you!

November I will be there!

There is no way cheaper, another one is by hotel boat which is so expensive for me!
I will pay on this fishing approximately U$ 1,300,00 all include (plane tickets as well)!
Probably I will come back on 2011, maybe in october.

Regards

Re: Looking for someone to fishing in Rio Negro Amazonia (peacock bass)

Oh yes Bernie!!!

Sorry, my english is not so good, I am still learning, that is why I thought to invite someone who was american, to practise my english and to know another person from US! I did understand that you wanted invite me for a fishing in US...hehehehehe

Check this out, maybe you can think about a fishing trip in amazon next year, because I want to return to there, and we can gather to go.

As I wrote in my second post, the local guide is very reliable and he gave his phone to set dates, in this case, you just need to speak a little portuguese, because he does not speak english, and set a date with him.

He has 2 boats, one of them with 25hp engine and the other with 40hp engine, he was born in Barcelos and he knows all the region!

If you want to go there this time, you will need a friend of you to come together and get the other boat, but I do not know if his boat will be available. I would have to call him.

Of course I want to find out other locations in Amazon to fishing trips, but it is not easy, because the most of fishing trips are packs from fishing companies, and they are expensive. In fact I want to find out fishings such as I will do in Barcelos.

Hey, here is a video of a guy who went to fishing in Barcelos with his wife on april 2010:

Here he writes about his fishing trip and about the prices and how to make this trip to Barcelos! http://www.turmadobigua.com.br/forum...hp?f=9&t=12980
you can use google translator to read it.

I hope you can do this fishing trip, It will be my first time in Amazon, I am so excited! Amazon is outstanding!!!

A big hug Bernie!

ps: Sorry my writing...
