| 2011 fishing regulations Something that has been recently brought to my attention by Barrie at the Nffo, Undulate Rays cannot be taken for the table commercially or by Rod and line. Email received yesterday and I quote, Jason The TACS and quotas regulations for 2011 requires that all catches of Undulate ray are returned to the sea. There is no exemption for method of capture or size of vessel. The NWW RAC has set up a working group to try to get a more flexible and properly focused conservation policy on skates and Rays, but that wont help us this year. Barrie. BUT... there is good News, Cod remain unaffected for Rod and line, emailed me today. TIGHT LINES ALL, Jason. |

probably makes more sense to commercial fisherman, although I doubt it, Dave is there not a proper site for rules and regs for Anglers? If you read between the lines, I think in all honesty, the fisheries/gov, main concern is commercial, they don't word things in consideration for anglers, although I hate to think how much the angling nation brings in revenue for the country!! ![]() It sucks really, because to be honest how many fish do we really take home for the table, it must vary between anglers depending on how good the fishing is in their area, not every angler travels. Sadly, (the wife always seems to bring this one up) "Got any fish,...no, what again!"LOL ![]() |
