Saturday 15th Roker Ron report

An early start and a push offshore.First we thought we would get on the 'Mackerel mark' for 6am so away from the marina at 5am.I should of known after the 'No Mackerel' catch what sort of day we were in for.
Down with the hook at the spot spot we fished last Wednesday....Nothing just Dogfish so the call was made to 'Go South'.There were fish there but the tide was pissing through.Once it slacked the fishing became a little easier but only just. There were a few Rokers there but not like they normally are.I had a small Bass in the mix and Andy had a nice Gurnard...We also had another million Dogfish and one small smoothound. We came straight back across the tops on highwater to another mark closer to home, well about 18miles from home really, but was closer than where we had been.Very quiet there just one Roker but nearly 13lb so I suppose that was ok.
Not the greatest of days but was nice to be out.We will try again tomorrow.
