No problem in the Solent area, Ben. If you get out codding, likely to see thornbacks turn up as a by-catch. Targetting them, Sandown Bay is good for small-eyed, thornbacks turn up anywhere, there's spotted rays on most sandbanks, blondes on the offshore banks (and occasionally on the cod grounds). Undulates seem much patchier though.

Cool Re: skate - does no one like fishing for ??

hi fellas theres a mark about a mile to mile and a half of the pier in sandown bay good for painteds, spotties, odd thornies and blondes
watch out for the nets as theres a boat ripping the shit out of the bay he`s out there every other day and the bouyes are quite small!!!!

Re: skate - does no one like fishing for ??

Hi Floks,

You might as well tie a dustbin lid to your line and drop it overboard, then wind it in as it hits the bottom. There is no sport in that.

Cheers

Drew
