| Re: does no one like fishing for skate?? Hi Richard as i said this is the first time for me but the guy who goes a lot he gave me a trace to copy to make. The hook he used is a 12/0 with the mono from that 130lb then a rubbing trace 0f 200lb mono with whole mackerel or pollock as bait. For me he said to use 50lb tackle for the first time but he uses 30lb class rod. The line i have on my reel is 50lb+ 500 yards. __________________ Tight lines |

Hooked one in Ireland in May this year but lost it next to the boat  Skipper estimated it to be 110lb ish yipes was fishing in 160 feet of water and it took ages to get it up the first time, the second time was even harder LOL.We were using mackie filletts 3 at a time.
