who's using what ? and why ?
I've always used a rig wallet and keep individual rigs inside zipseal bags ( all labelled up ) - it hold loads of them plus spare mantles,a few extra hooks , swivels etc..
Looked at the tronix winders but are they just a gimmick / extra weight ..
wtf are map pins ?
I may spend a tenner if i can justify it with any advantages !

Rig wallet ,with individual rigs in labelled easy zip top plasticbags for me too, I've got rig wallet OCD....

The Tronix small rig winder box fits nicely ,inside the Beta seatbox,along side an Anyfish Anywhere match wallet , and gives tonnes of storage,and leaves lots of room for food !!!!!

I se rig winders now after years of rig wallets. It may just have been me but even with winding my rigs up and putting them carefully in a rig wallet sometimes the rigs still got tangled up when taking them out. Never had that problem with winders after a year of using them. Deffo the way forward just takes up a bit more room in your tackle box. that is the only down side i can see to them

Being a tackle tart who likes to travel light, I only use major brand Names.

Note the coolbag that is the best America has to offer from a state with lots of trees.

The rig wallet is used by some peeps for storing A4 sheets of paper in easy access open plastic wallets & can store 20 seperate rigs, costs £1 from the major angling superstore Tes co.

The rig winder consists of a bit of cardboard from the recycle bin which seperates 2 rigs, or has them wrapped around it depending on kinkability of the rig. It is stored in an easily labled tin which was given away as part of some anniversary presentation pack.

Both of these items can fit in the bag along with a 2 pint baitbox used to hold worms. The bag hangs nicely on the tripod allowing easy movement up & down the beach.




Not sure which to vote for as both have their time & place.

I like the Tronix rig winders & storage boxes. I used to use wallets, but I find rigs dry out faster on winders & are less prone to rust. Also less tangles

Good question S&M, I use a wallet as most of my fishing involes me cycling with a rucksack on my back so I'm limited wih space. I have wondered about the winders. I think I might give them ago after rerading this.

rig wallets all the way, cant really vote though coz my tactics go summat like this-

1 bright and shiney rigwallet for new bright and shiney rigs.

2, tangled in the box, old rigs from last session, drying with plenty of air around them prior to sorting out.

3, old rigwallet for old used rigs that made the grade after sorting, - hooks stilll sharp or replaced.
snoods & bodys checked for faults and found aok .

4, components from scrapped rigs salvaged to nicnac box for beach rig building or fettleing

here is one for ya i get the small sandwich bags from asda ,my bab makes a cover staple the lot together exactly what you pay 4 pound for on ebay i made loads cheaspest rig wallet on the block
