However as Chopper mentions try that for a couple of sessions at Chesil and see whats left of your braid fella ! The thread is entitled " braid to shockleader knot " ..not "do i need to use a leader with braid " - not to be confused with do i need a shockleader ( used to prevent breakoffs when casting - NOT abrasion to the braid ). And as for the pics dont make me laugh..whether caught on a boat or not, the whole point is will using a shock leader affect catches..the answer is obviously NO ...showing a pic of a smutt proves what exactly ?
