Great tutorial!

One question though - the article suggests these are only found in the south ie through the English Channel. For those that do not have easy access to harvest these limpets do you know if ordinary limpets (those with a conical shape and found pretty much all round the coast) work as a bait?

Hi Ian.

I have tried the normal limpet many times for Wrasse and other species. With the exception of one small Wrasse I found them to be next to useless.

I read somewhere that slipper limpets work better when they are off and smelly. Have you tried maturing them :-) before freezing them?

Deffo if they stink and slightly off - they do work well, I always freeze mine fresh but re-freeze after and in the process they go 'off ..... great Bass bait locally after a blow ...
