| pennell rigs Not sure how many of you guys use this set up for a pennell but thought i'd share it as it seems so obvious! tie on your "end" hook in the normal way. pass line through the eye of the top pennell hook and pull it down to where you wish it to become fixed. wrap the line around and around the shank of the hook going away from the eye as many times as you wish but 10 seems about right, keeping the wraps next to each other as if you were doing a whipping. make one or two turns back up towards the eye and pass it back through the eye and pull tight. this makes a perfect non-slip pennell. its effectively a knotless knot as used by carp anglers for hair rigs. it saves all that tubing and wrapping line around the shank of hooks each time you wind in. Its perfect for big cod rigs where you know the size of the baits you want to present (eg squid) and can be used with any size hook and any strength line. regards, Stephen. |

| Re: pennell rigs It's as easy to have the 2nd hook floating then you're not tied down to one sized baits. __________________ 2 trips this year 0 blanks,7 whiting,1 flounder |
