How to present mackerel on the hook?

Can people tell me their personal way of putting it on the hook and what size to use when beach/pier fishing. All advice would be much appreciated,Cheers

I will try and take some picture this weekend mate as its hard to describe

fillet the macky then cut in to strips across the girth not the length,
then put hook in one end slide it up to the eye and wrap bait cotton
around it to hold on the hook.you can use it to tip off lug worm cut it into
smaller pices just abit bigger than your thumb nail and hook just once good for whiting .
