Thumbs up Re: finger guard

Been meaning to get one myself. I get blisters on my thumb when I use a multiplier.

Re: finger guard

for multi's i prefer a strip of inner tube about 1" x 6"
taped below the reel or trapped under the coaster, should point down the butt away from the reel .
when ready to cast pull up and over spool and use for extra grip on the spool when casting.
when you realease the spool it'll flipp back out the way.

you could use a thumb(or finger stall for fixed spools ) usualy availiable at chemists or even wrap some insulation tape around the digit(not too tight remove when/ if your finger/thumb goes blue

but i don't bother when useing f/spool, just rely on a super smooth casting style , good shockleader and a loud n blue vocabulary if i do cut my finger.

Re: finger guard

On me fixed spool rods i use the thumb cannon cant remember who makes em, its either gemini or breakaway tackle, i cant fault em.
Multiplier i use a bit of bike innertube on me thumb. I also know of some people that cut the fingers out of old marrygold gloves and use these on fingers or thumbs.

Re: finger guard

It could be the shockleader knot hitting your finger, are you using standars shockleaders or tapered?
If you are using standard i would give a tapered leader a go.
Just a thought.
