i was talking to one of my mates the other day who sea fishers a lot .
he was telling me on his last trip was not going well and being a angler who will try any thing decided to spray one of his baited rods with WD40 and he told me that it was taken so after a couple of fish he decided to do the same to inactive rod and had another two fish
now wether for what ever reason wether it was a freak session or wether it makes the bait bouyant through the oil in the wd40 lifting the bait up in the water i don,t know but i thought i would pass it on just in case other want to try it or have tried it

Lots of anglers in the Bristol Channel, use the old "WD40" trick,cant say it has a magic effect tho.

Years ago WD40 was called and made from duck oil,so had a natural duck oil scent,but i think todays stuff is purely chemical based and does not have the duck oil in it any more.

I used it last year and caught plenty of whiting on it, and also a couple of nice flatties. But it was catching just as well as the un WD40'd rod.

don't thing the chemicals are great for the water or the fish. just my opinion.

wd 40 will also kill your worms if you accidentally get it or spray it on to them.
why not try a different method of bait addative.

i will not try it as i don,t go sea fishing well probably once or twice a year and i don,t ever use oils as i believe they make no difference to catching fish they seem to be having it or not

Have seen it used in boat fishing with no effect, except once, the guy sprayed his lures and out fished us all.
