Well I use thumb buttons for my F/S casting simply because they stop the line stripping the skin off my fingers,I wouldn't say that they improve casting though as they still require you to release the button at the right moment!

I definately prefer them to finger stools or the like.

i rem first time with a 6oz lead i caught my finger man i can feel it now ,,,,,,scots how many of those green sqaures you going for lol good luck btw

a nice thick shockleader helps stop the cuts as well ,
