| Re: Razor fish normally spoots are used as a tipping bait in a cocktail with worm or other fish baits.. use bait elastic to bind them to the hook .. flatties like razors and most fish will take them after a good blow when there are plenty dislodged by the weather.. when collecting they will stay alive for a couple of days in a big bucket of sea water, otherwise freeze them down on the day still in the shells .. pack them in quantities that you will use on a session to avoid waste - 4-6 i reckon .. try the old salt down the burrow at night to collect them . then lay the razors on the tray and freeze down as soon as you can get them home.. once frozen bag them in zip seal bags and push the air out the bags .. cling film isnt really much cop for bait as it seems to let freezer burn get to the baits after a while don't wash them after they've been collected and make sure you pat them dry with kitchen roll before you freeze them .. __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting |

if you get out after its been blowing a hoolie for a couple of days on a biggish tide you can walk down the beach and collect them lying on the top after they've been dislodged b the weather.. its just a case of beating the seagulls ![]() closer to low water on big tides will produce the goods __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting |
