Re: Fork vs Pump

Blow lug are easiest dug in the normal way with a fork, blacks live a lot deeper ,and dont produce a cast and blow hole you have a great advantage pumping them. Its down to personal preferance really , these 2 videos have lots of great info....the guy pumping makes it look easy !

Not really because the blow live in a U shaped burrow ,they could be in either uptube or at the bottom ,good old diging is miles better .

Any good tackle shop should be able to supply one ,i`d go for a good make like an Alvey if i were you..

Try veals ,they do the pumps and all the spares https://www.veals.co.uk/acatalog/___Bait_Pumps.html

Where do you normally dig them ??? On the beach ,any size tide ,or only at the low water zone on a bigger tide ,the black beds only tend to be uncovered on big spring tides, around the low tide area

Take a look at this link ,might help too.....http://www.glaucus.org.uk/lugs.htm

Cheers mate, that pump video has answered a few questions. Can you get Yellow tail with a pump? or better to dig them?
