hi ben. the plastic booms are very strong we use them for bream rigs and have often picked up smoothounds on them and landed them and they are cheap.

Amystichrani is on a distinguished road
Have you tried the Gemini booms with the SRT springs?I know they are quite expensive, but the actual booms are very thin and strong, and when they are made up into a clip-down trace(as they show on the packet) the trace itself is very streamlined and light.I strip down all my old traces and use the re-usable bits again-I hate having to throw things away if I can use them on another trace. 8)

Yes that's an SRT spring, used in this instance on an up-and-over rig assembly. The SRT springs stop the hook length from stretching under the load of casting.

Below is a Gemini ready-made rig with a boom and SRT spring. Good gear, the Gemini range.

Keep it quiet. I have shares.

Seriously though, good kit and great customer service. I think when you find that it should be passed on.

Now talk to me about Tiscali and you'll hearing nothing but abuse. Usless.
