Drag Setting

When spinning for Bass how tight should i set the drag on my reel.I usually fish with 12-15lb mono.

Re: Drag Setting

The drag should be set to 25% of the breaking strength of the line you are using. The breaking strength is the line’s pound test,
test strength ÷ 4 = correct drag setting

For example, if you are using 8lb test line, the correct drag setting should be 2lbs.

if your using 12 lb it is set at 3
if using 16lb its set at 4

I always set it by adjusting the drag until I could just pull the line off the reel with some resistance. Had no worries with that method.
