Line Question

Ive just taken up lure fishing and at present i am using a snap link connected to a swivel which in turn connects directly to the 12 lb main line. i was just wondering if i should be using a trace of lighter line from mainline to lure ?

Re: Line Question

short answer is no...if you are using 12lb mainline you dont want to go any lighter than that to attatch the lure....infact some opt for a wire 'biting' trace behind the lure as in pike fishing..

Re: Line Question

Hi Nad03, mate if you want some really good fun with your lure fishing, load your reel with 20lb braid 4ft of clear mono leader 12lb, snap link swivel on the end of the leader, lure on the snap link, thats it bang fish on, there is no need for a wire 'biting' trace behind the lure, hope this helps Boo.
