pilchard oil and dogfish

Heres a little secret match tip when fishing a dog match try filleting some mackeral the day before you fish and soaking overnight in pilchard oil it drives them nutty.Also have tried spraying them with wd40 it does work!!but it seems to put of some fish like whiting.Also if you can get them the new fish strips(yellow things) are quite good for pout.

i was going to ask about them strips,i read in the seaangler last month i think that someone was catching flatties on them.
anybody know if they are any good for sole?.
the reason i ask is i know somewhere local where there is sole some large ones too but trouble is you cant catch them because the pout destroy the bait b4 the poor sole gets a chance.
i have been told various methods to try one was short weighted snoods because then the bait doesnt move and the pout are not interested (i find that hard to believe) they seem to be interested in anything edible

I know quite a few anglers who would be interested in something to stop the doggies snaffling the bait, especially when seeking cod from the shore :lol: Now that would be worthwhile... :lol:

only heard of dabs caught on them flatty wise but dont know if anyone has even tried them for sole



good tip i seen on a site is you can use them to get away from crabs

crabs dont take them at all so if you get plagues by crabs put one of them on and then you will catch flatties :wink:
