Fishing equipment suggestions

Hi, Can anyone suggest some appropriate equipments (eg rod, reed, line etc) for me for fishing in Town Quay Southampton? as I only fished once with my friend.
My budget is about GBP100.

Thank you very much.

i reccommend that you take a drop net as a friend of mine caught a 10lb+ bass from low water

Thanks for your reply. Is there anymore details for the drop net (eg length, how big and price)? Thank you.

Re: Fishing equipment suggestions

Darren , any rod 8ft onwards , no need for mastercasting there , most of the fish are around your feet feeding off the structures , get a good egg beater (fs reel) , have fun with the pout and whiting with the odd good sole chucked in , rag baits are all thats needed , for the bigger bass use heavy gear , and drop a live pout over the side and wait , i use 20-30 lb class boat rod and reel for the bass 50 lb mainline and 60 lb shock , too many obstacles down there to snap you off on a drop net is essential as its a near 15 ft drop at low water , for general fishing i use 15lb mainline and tapered shockleader , 2 hook flapper with size 1 hooks , have a look through some reports from town quay on here and you will see why
