| Re: spinning for mackerel im going the 24th oct. i am going to the south west of ireland to a place called Goleen, its near Mizen Head the most south westerly point in Ireland. my dad taught me to fish there and i have passed on the family tradition to my two boys. they caught there fish there last May. was the proudest day of my life watching my 8,and 11 year old have a double hook up together, listening to there screams when they felt the ping on the line when the fish took the lure. watching there eyes light up when they saw the dark of colour on the surface. brought a tear to my eye, since my dad passed away a few years back and it brought back the memeories of me and him on them same rocks and me catching my first there too. we normally fish of the rocks and get either mackerel or pollack. by the sounds of it the mackerel will have gone, so might jst be after pollack. might have to try go again in july/aug nxt year cos i know they def there then, cos thats when my dad took me. |
