Re: hook snoods

I’ve also noticed that I seem to get a lot of bites when retrieving me rig, while snorkeling I have also seen that all the fish seem congregate around people as they are moving, it could be the vibrations attracting them, I thought it was the fact that they were churning up the sand as they walked, agitating their food, similar to when the sea is rough.

Re: hook snoods

Hi Ben.

If i know its gonna be a clean retrival i usually do about 4 fairly slow winds of the reel, slow cause i want to keep the lead on the sea bed, then wait a few mins and do it again, i usually keep this up until i see me swivel.

Must be clean ground though,

The other other thing to take into consideration is that maybe this had no effect on the fish at all, and i just overcast and then bought the bait into the area where the fish were located.

Which ever it worked though.

on the same line as delboy....i was thinking the same thing really ....as i also use 15lb on reel, so what should i do to stop loseing my rig if snagged?..tackle?....so whats the best thing for me to do please?

as i cant get my head around this lol

Re: hook snoods

The thing is, is that fish dont see colours as we do they see in black and white, imagine the world is a black an white telly, u have black and white and all the ranges of grey in between, as statesd on page 3 after 10m red is useless, but luminous yellow is a goodun, and in reply to teh worry that luminous beads dont ahve enough light to make them luminous for very long then you can get those ones with 2 chemicals the snap tubes, they'll add heat as an extra attractor :P, i find a lot of my knowledge from my fly fishing, and how the same fish will respond to the same pattern just in different shades and colours, fished in teh same way on teh same leader on the same stretch of river.

Re: hook snoods

Is Red Ice no good then, or doesn't it affect the fish at all?

Re: hook snoods

I use Red Ice..... doesnt seem to matter what colour line you use the fish dont care, and if they are only able to see in Black and White, line colour wont effect them.
I located some Amnesia for snood, so thanks to whoever recommended it.... it works... no more tangles. oh.... and its black
