Re: Rod Tip Light – Seeing your rod tip at night

a word of warning make sure your tip light is secure properly before casting because the other week when i was on the beach the angler fishing next to me did have one not fixed right and i had to laugh when i saw it flying out to sea

Re: Rod Tip Light – Seeing your rod tip at night

that tapes called "micropore", only just started using it(after being a fan of good old electrical tape)after using some on a cut for myself and thought this could be good , works great as can completely cover ends of lights to stop tangles/snags as other post and light comes through fine, not the cheapest stuff in boots etc but if you know someone in a hospital/medical job than even better price (but could never condone that )

Re: Rod Tip Light – Seeing your rod tip at night

well i use reflective tape on me rod, to light my rods up i hav a 15cm strip of aluminium with a hole drilled at one end, i screw this onto the tripods head, ( the metal is bent in middle at 45 degrees) and at the end of this i have a MFA clip on light, which is just 3 LEDs.
So that lights up me rods without the hassle of lamps or headlamps on.

Paul,
That sounds pretty ingenious.
Where are the leds positioned? What powers them?

Re: Rod Tip Light – Seeing your rod tip at night

wooo, who has a genny??
wish for money n good looks for me please
i aint used tip lights but have used those bells before, found they caught the wind alot, and when you strike the line often gets tangled around it damaging the line and the bell!!!!
caught me 1 fish due to it but i dont like using it cause of the noise and damage when reeling it
