in the summer when the mackerel are about and you are fishing on the bottom try putting a flyer down your line all it is a bit of line with a clip swivel on 1 end and a hook on the other clips on your line and slides down works very well with live eels may need to put a shot or small ball wieght on the trace if it doesnt slide down __________________

no what he is saying is that if you are chucking out for botom feeding fish and the gars and mackerel are about try sliding another hook down the line so you are fishing nearer the surface to!! I've seen many of gars caught like this but on my beach you have to cast out quite away as it aint that deep! is that right steve? oh yes bit late to go to post this aint it!! lol you have answered the question allready!

excellent!! When spinning, can you do it from a pier? Also when you're spinning from the shore, will you find mackerel, gar etc from like the open sea if it's not next to a pier or do they only hang around piers?

yer the problem we have is that the beach aint all that deep so we tend to need the bottle rigs for them cause we cant get the flyer out far enough! Great tip steve thanks
