| Re: Shockleader – Fishing Line Part 2 i just got some greased wheasle tappered shockleaders and it is worth spending the extra money on a tappered 1 just because the knot becomes so small, i got 15-50lb shockleaded with 18lb main line weights i usualy use are 3oz so a shockleader isnt always needed but i like to have 1 just in case, also i needd larger weights sometimes __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's |

| Re: Shockleader – Fishing Line Part 2 Like ben i always like to use tappered shockleaders. These tend to be very expensive but in my mind well worth it. They come into there own if you are using a multiplyer reel with level wind. Otherwise a general guide for using ordinary leaders is, to hold the rod upwards under the arm, allow a drop from tip to floor and through the rod length with a half a dozen turns on the reel. Tie a real good knot and if it doesnt look good then redo it otherwise it will let you down, usually with a good fish on!! After fishing, check the knot for wear and replace as nessasary. | Re: Shockleader – Fishing Line Part 2 I actually prefer a ginner loop rather than a blood knot, finds it hold better ;) |

| Re: Shockleader – Fishing Line Part 2 A Bimini twist is about the best knot as it gives a good bit of strength and 'give' between the two lines. It's quite easy to do but I have trouble getting a small tidy knot.....Any ideas? |
