| tips on fishing south parade pier in southsea ok well just thought i would make a guide to fish on the pier. oki lets go. first things first you do have to pay to fish of the pier but it can be worth it! adults (over the age of 16) 2.50 + 1.00 per extra rod children 1.80 + 1.00 per extra rod night fishing 3.00 ( 9pm - 9am ) if the baylift is not there, you do not have to pay they also sell some bait, 2 large mackie 2.50 garfish 1.20 each ragworm 11.00 per lb sandeel 2.00 per pck better off buying ur bait from the closest tackle shops ( solent tackle, winter road. lock, stock, and tackle, elm grove) fishing! thought i would start of with spring time ( feb - may) daytime fishing is not brilliant this time of year. plaice is the fish ur most liklely to catch, range from palm sized to 8 lb. ragworm tiped of with a fish strip ( makerel or squid) is your best bait. also chunks of mackerel on a small pennel rig has also caught plaice. nightime bass, plaice, flounder, pouting, rockling, dogfish are the fish you will catch at night time, like any where else, high tide rules, baits worm tiped with fish strip or limpet. whole squid, or a nice chunk a mackerel on a penel rig will catch you the biger bass summer (june - august) well so much to say as its the best time of year to fish.mackerel have had a couple of months to settle in, huge smoothhounds have come in. han of cause those bait robbing little bugers of black bream mackerel - feathers, float fishing mackerel strip or sandeel, of fishing the bottom with mackerel or sandeel. day and night bass- ragworm, squid, mackerel, sandeel, live bait ( pouting, wrass, pollock ect.)limpet, bluey, garfish.feathers, shads other lures pollock - rag, lug, mackerel, sandeel, shrimp, feathers, eddystone eels, sidewinder lures ect smooth hound- rag, squid, hardback crab, mackerel. bream-everything! llol autum ( september - october) all the summer fish apart from flounder and pouting are moving out again and fishing is getting worse. best time for the big bass though so get those live mackie on! winter (november - jan ) CRAP! whiting mainly, sometimes the pouting and flounder are caught. and sometimes ,2-3 a year, cod. ![]() good luck with fishing of the pier guys a guls from pompy or from somewhere else wanting to fish the pier regards ollie |
