Yup, didn't work for me, but thats not to say they don't, Bristol channel has too much sedement and crap going through it so I stick to the tried and tested now. Squid and Rag or Black Lug and squid or blow lug and squid.

Mackie strips for my conger marks.

Cheers
Shaun

Re: FISH and STRIPS

i would say that in the BC it should work better because its only scented the same as crab and worm and up there like u say the water is sludge so fish feed by smell not sight...therefore they dont know if its a real worm or a smell piece of string!

but that is only my theory on it i have never tried them

Re: FISH and STRIPS

reports i've seen seem to rate them as flatfish bait
brought some when i went to france with no joy, but think that was more my tactics than anything else
will try rest of packet on flatties in winter for a test one day

Re: FISH and STRIPS

Worked for me on the river humber when nothing else was. at the end of the day it is better to have something else in the 'amourery' then just using the same fresh baits which aren't catching. if the fresh baits are working then use that. if not. try something else. you might find it works

alot of people say the same thing of Ultrabite, but i have found that it can be the difference between winning and losing a boat fishing match on some days.

At the end of the day it is up to personal preference if you want to use it. i have it for the 'just in case moments' in fishing

Re: FISH and STRIPS

never used fish n strips, but the local tackle shop gets pealer oil in and that works on the flatties round here, actual pealer crab doesn't but lug soaked with pealer oil does

Re: FISH and STRIPS

well here at the beach you are almost guaranteed to catch, but to get more than the odd one or two i recomend the oil, but no other baits soaked work though, fish are strange
