Help, which Beach Casting Rod??

I've been boat fishing more times than I can remember but now would like to start beach fishing. Can any one recommend a relatively cheap (below £50) rod and reel for me to use. It would be good if the rod has a excellent sensitivty.

Thanks and tight lines!!

Re: Help, which Beach Casting Rod??

For around £50 - probably a Ron Thompson X-Symmetry 15' - either FS or Multi reel versions available, good sturdy beach rod, reasonable sensitive tip & casts well - a lot of people slate RT gear but I used that rod for a year before discovering expensive rods (HELP !) but you wont get a lot more for that amount I'm afraid. If you can stretch to £100 - the Greys GRX is a superb rod for the price ...

Re: Help, which Beach Casting Rod??

Sorry, I've just seen "Rod & Reel" - the RT X-Symmetry & Okuma reel set is around the £80 mark .....

Will take a look to see whats around locally for the £50 mark ...

Re: Help, which Beach Casting Rod??

Thanks for your help so far, I should have said that I'm not too good with a multiplier reel as I'm used to casting with a fixed spool. This set up would be helpful.

Cheers.
