| Sea Fishing Feeder I mentioned some time ago that I tried a home made feeder at Blue Anchor. My theory is that it must help to create a scent trail in the heavily coloured water of the Bristol Channel. At the time I didn't have a clue about how to post pictures and this is still only my second attempt. For anyone interested this is what the home made feeder looks like. A swivel and bead at the leader end, a drilled 35mm film cannister with lid mounted in line on a short length of 60lb mono, another bead and then a lead clip. They say a picture paints a thousand words so yer tis! ![]() I fish it between the end of the rig and the weight. I gave the last one away after frightening myself with the Conger I caught.(allright I know I'm a wimp but the damn things bite!) I can't resist having another go though. With a bit of luck that will be this weekend so I'll let you know how I get on. __________________ Rich "If a thing's worth doing it's worth doing to excess!" |

| Re: Sea Fishing Feeder That's not a bad idea, well done....after all feeders get used in freshwater fishing and they work, so why shouldn't the work for sea fishing....you can attract fish with smelly bait without it being gobbled up by those nasty bait thieves...CRABS ![]() __________________ There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind." - Washington Irving |

| Good Idea Richard. That looks a bit more durable than the freshwater feeders. I did wonder about using a lump of frozen minced fish & fish oil to leave a scent trail. Good luck with your trip. |

| Re: Sea Fishing Feeder I have used feeders with success for Estuary Flounder fishing and they do work ! My conversion of a freshwater feeder but have tried the film cannister method as well (filled with foam to soak oils etc) - both work ! ![]() ![]() __________________ SUPPORT THE RNLI - click : www.rnli.org.uk ... every little helps ! | Re: Sea Fishing Feeder Quote:
poke a hole in the bottom and lid for a straw, freeze your attractant in them, thaw'em a bit to get the "ice cude" out, I'd bet it would work?? ![]() __________________ A bad day fishing is better than a good day working!
