pennel rigs ??

i have started using pennel rig recently to try to target some slightly larger fish and still catch little fish at the same time but i have been having afew problems with the best way to rig the 2nd hook
how does every1 rig there pennel rigs??
i have tryed using the rig tubing but find that the hook moves about to much when you cast and then the bait presentation isnt right, i have also tryed wraping the line around the hook, the hook doesnt move like this but you have to replace the hook lentgh all the time, is there away of doing it which is strong and doesnt ruin the line???

How about a bead or stop knot double threaded (like the stop knot on a float) below the hook. You'd have plenty of flexability but still be strong enough to stay in place after a cast?

Just an idea from someone who hasn't used that rig before... but might do :)

a friend of mine swears by super glue,he says you can position the 2nd hook wherever you like,personally i have always twisted the line round it and never had any problems

i find that even if i buy line which says memory free it still gets all bent n messed up

go to the carp section of your tackle shop. you will find shrink wrap tubing for rigs. lots of different diameters to choose from. once you get one that the eye of the hook will fit in simply use a hairdryer to heat wrap the tubing to a nice tight fit.

no mate. its been designed for use on carp rigs. the rubber is very soft and doesnt take much heating (unlike rod shrink wrap). take a look and see what you think. i think drennan make some nice stuff - yellow packets and the tubing is black or green....

no mate normal rig tubing doesnt 'normally' shrink under heat.

wrap line around but just use strong trace line so you dont have to change it
