| Pulley pennel rig The pulley pennel rig is i think the best shore rig. the pulley rig itself is great for fishing on rough bottom. the weight of the fish pulls the lead up so it doesnt snag on the bottem. the pennel on it is great for big baits, plus if there's a impact shield it will prevent the bait "flying" off. i recomend this rig i give it 10/10. ![]() __________________ Fishing for a living |

| Re: Pulley pennel rig also good for reataching hook snoods if one gets messed up! as ther is a bit of give as far as snood length gose, with paternoster i always seem to be a couple of mill out to replace and give a good tight but easy fit against the bait sheild! i dont have an issue with lead clearance as most of my day to day fishing is done over clean sandy ground! but the self hooking propertys of this rig cant be denied! id like to bye a beer for who ever came up with this rig! very youser friendly and affective at range! but for real close range stuff (20/40 yards) i dont have confidence in it and go for a good old running ledger, another super simple rig! __________________ SCUPPER A COMMERCIAL TOOOO DAY! |

| Re: Pulley pennel rig i just made a few of these for me and dad to go fishing with and i must reccommend it, but i prefer to have rigs with multiple snoods so i dont use it often, only if thers some rotten bottom, and sometimes for that i use a...rotten bottom! ![]() __________________ "Alright Jack, we all ready to fish?" | Re: Pulley pennel rig ive never had that prob ive been useing it for a few years now, you thread your bottom hook then your middle hook half way through the worms/squid etc as you would with any bait. and use the top hooh as the slideing one wich you wrap your line round it and hook it just like you normaly. |

| Re: Pulley pennel rig I use a spinlink or fastlink at the end of my mainline/leader, so all of my rigs start with a swivel to attach to the mainline. When making pulley rigs, I now use Fox Pulley Rig Beads ![]() They help spread the load across a greater section of line and help prevent traces kinking and weakening. I've also looked at the possibility of using mini zip sliders but it just seems to over-complicate the rig. |
