Question bass on feathers

when feathering for mackerel, can you get bass on them too??

these willl be from the shore, and are the shrimp rigs size 4/0's and the daylight one's i think (got some new 1's the other day)

will the weight scare them, or does that not matter??

thanks for any help!!

Re: bass on feathers

what happens is:- the mackerel chase the white bait fry and the bass chase the small mackerel and the white bait fry. and the gulls pick up the bits. so you have a good chance of picking up a bass under the mackerel, your feathers should be the silverey type with a 2/0 hook you will get plenty of mackerel as well so if no bass are there you'll still get a feed. (so look for places where the gulls are working)

Where's that Steve? If all else fails I may resort to feathers to catch something / anything!

Re: bass on feathers

JulianS, a new forum member had a nice bass to about 4lb on feathers on Sunday in the Forum boat comp. You should have seen the look on his face when it came to the surface !!!
