Unhappy Floating Beads

Why are floating rig beads so expensive, £2.25 for 10? Anybody know of any cheaper bulk packs?

Unhappy Re: Floating Beads

Cheers Big Guy, call me a skinflint but it's still expensive!!! 3 beads per snood, 6 beads per rig, one pack won,t even make two rigs. Just wondered if anybody sells them by the hundred?

hi, I saw some down the tackle shop t'other month and thought
they're a good idea to keep the crabs at bay, the packet woz
marked 25p .

yea, cheap enough, but the shop keeper scared the b'jesus out of this skinflint when he said 'each' didn't notice the 'each' written below.

cheaper to feed the crabs or use shaped polystyrene blocks as i've done in the past to make 'popups'.

geejayy.

Yes I had thought about that. I think they use poly balls or rig foam for pop-up baits. Have to investigate. Could also be a niche in the sea fishing market as I feel we are being ripped of here.

Re: Floating Beads

see this http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...005&hasJS=true postage might make it worse, but you never know till you ask.
Cat fishers stick a sliver of foam packing material in their bait...might you try that?

Talking Re: Floating Beads

Cheers Omaha,
I think thats roughly about the same price as we pay over here & probably dearer with postage. May even cost more if the bunch of ripoff merchants called UK customs & excise decide to charge duty on em . Recon you could make a tidy profit selling fishing gear to UK forum members. Just label stuff as a gift or returned under warranty to get past customs. Bout time Blairs & Browns ripoff Britian department got screwed!! I don,t recon that polystyrene packing idea would stand up to beachcaster tactics.

Re: Floating Beads

I kind of wonder about that money making scheme.
Not so long ago, it was said you could travel anyplace w/2 suitcases, 1w/your stuff and the other stuffed w/Levi's jeans. Selling them along the way to pay for your trip.
I've wondered if that would work in England w/fishing tackle? I look at sites like Veal's and the number in the price doesn't seem so bad...in dollars, til I multiply it by 1.8 to convert it to pounds. WOW!!! minimum wage there must be close to 6BP.
Then look at Australian sites, a guy could make a killing if he could get good, cheep shipping!
