i wouldn just like to warn anyone that buys reeady made rigs, especially beginners, that a well known company are selling DANGEROUS rigs that are such poor quality you woundn't belive.

the new fladen range. some one on deal pier had bought some on the way to a match and said that they weren't very good.

it was a pulley rig with cheap 15lb hook snood, about size 2 hooks, cheap 50lb rig body, a main swivel that would snap at about 50lb pressure and a replica clipped genie that had at least 3mm gap for the lead to slip out of and made of material no stronger than a paper clip.

this is described as a long range rig, for big fish, and has pulley power. LOL.

me and everyone i spoke said it would snap with anything more than an over head lob.

i think it's disgusting that these were able to get to the customer, surely the manufacturer, wholesaler or shop owner must have realised they were absolute s**t and could potentially kill someone.

your views please.

False economy pre tied rigs ,unless they come from a small company,then they are tied in this country not in Taiwan ! Only one way really tie your own,you know what goes in and its much more fun,and not that expensive either.......

Well said Mike it only takes minutes to tie up a couple of pulley rigs...its fun and its a lot safer than buying inferior C*app made in the far east as you kow whats gone into it.

I never buy ready made rigs,ive just come in from making some up,you can have snood lengths,hook size ,swivel type,line strength etc etc all of your own choosing.
And there cheaper
PS Young kids really get in the way though

the ready mades aren't cheap. you can make a muts nuts 3 hook clipped with the best quality components for the same price of a ready made 2 hook flapper.

i steward for a local junior club and recomend that to learn how to tie rigs they buy ready mades from the local tackle shop, thats run by the world champion, and copy the basic rigs. then when your confident at making them, adapt the lengths, strength etc to when wnd where your fishing.

i just couldn't believe that a big company like that would allow such s**t rigs to be marketed under thier name.

Big companies are run by acountants unfortunatly,who look at the bottom line margin above all else...... not quality rigs...just money to them.Fals e economy really cause they sell crap and get no repeat business...
