| Repairs While on my last fishing trip I had a slight accident when I slipped on the wet rocks while striking and dropped my rod. I discovered that the eye at the tip of my rod had come off, to be followed moments later by losing the hook and end of my line to what ever it was I had hooked. Sigh Another one had got away. Anyway, today I was making repairs by glueing a new tip on. I had a small tube of glue and was dribbling it into the tube of the eye thinking that it was taking rather a lot. Then I looked at my fingers and noticed that it was dribbling down between them too. I rushed to the tap in the kitchen while trying to seperate my fingers. Luckily it had not quite set. It took me about 30 mins to get it off my fingers. Afterwards I had to laugh when I thought I shouldn't have bothered as the eye was joined to my fingers. I could have just used my hand as a rod. hehe. |

| Re: Repairs Hi mrpb 27, Super glue should not be used for glueing the tip ring. If you break it again you will have a hell of a job removing it. I would suggest that you use a general purpose glue stick. The tip can then be removed with a cigarette lighter or match, and replaced using the same method. | Re: Repairs Sounds like a good idea. Bit late now but worth remembering for another time. |
