| Re: Rotten bottoms Kinda, I have had some trouble with them releasing but my main issue is that they are really fiddley and if im out fishing for codling I want to be able to clip them up without all the fuss. Wondered if I could maybe make some that I could just hook the lead onto, rather than mess about with trying to locate the arm on these with freezing cold hands lol To be honest Mike I rarely fish over rough ground and have only used these a handful of times so I though I would see if I could knock a couple of home made ones up to see if they were any easier to use. __________________ Sea 2012- 5brd rockling, whiting, LS Dogfish,Bass,Eel,Flounder F/W 2012- Catfish(16.5lb), Carp,Tench LITTER IS JUST LAZINESS!! |

| Re: Rotten bottoms Hi Joe, I use upside down genie clips, the ones with a bait clip on. ![]() I attach the wieght to another genie clip using a weak link, 30lb clear mono shown in pic. I use 60lb trace and main line. Just hang the weight on the upside down clip when casting, it releases every time. If its realy rough ground I just tie the weight to the bottom of the upside down clip.
