| Newbie - Shock Leader/Line Strength Hi All, I'm not technically a newbie but I've forgotten a lot of what I knew so please bear with me. I'm getting out next weekend with my 12' beachcaster (4 - 6 oz recommended casting weight IIRC) and I was struggling to remember how to attach a shock leader and what to do with the rigs at either end. I found this thread: Line Strength Which answered most of my questions but I seem to remember having no end of problems with having a knot on my reel and snagging on the eyes during casting (almost certainly down to using the wrong knot). I'm using a fixed spool so I guess my question is, what knot should I use? Is the blood knot the best? Also, I've got 25lb main line and only a 60lb shock leader in my kit, is this suitable with the 25lb line for the rig? Any help much appreciated. Cheers Grim |
