do you have to have bait clips on a rig??
is not haveing them likely to affect my catch rate??
how do they work??
do they slide up and down the rig??

ben, im not the right person too answer this post but i think bait clips are more fore the aerodynamics of your rig and help with distance casting.
like i say i dont know much about it i cant cast anyway so it makes no odds to me lol, i think the impact shield does the same kiind of thing but it also protects the bait when it hits the water :?

Amystichrani is on a distinguished road
We use bait clips a lot-they are used to streamline your trace for further distance when you cast, and they stop the bait from flying off at the same time. Also, they help stop the snood from tangling when you cast as it should release when the weight hits the sea bed.For a single hooker or a Pulley rig,I usually use a Gemini bait clip on the end of my trace as it allows you to use an impact lead or a plain lead-I find the Gemini range of clips very versatile and use them all the time. :)

I like to use the Impact Shield clips as this also protects the bait as it enters the water and you end up with a better presentation. They also help the aerodynamics more because of the cone shape. This creates an air pocket behind the shield which protects the bait in mid-flight.
