Question boat rigs

Hi all after biting the bullet and saying that will go on the plaice boat trip in may (I know its a long way off but). But as i have never done boat fishing apart fom good old tourist mackeral boats.
I am going to ask a really daft question

what type of rig do you need for this?.
I guess they are different to beach flattie rigs?

all help will be appreciated
dave

Cool Re: boat rigs

Running ledger Dave long trace....with a boom and you can use the "Smoothy" flattie wishbone rig.....have caught loads drifting with it

AKA Marty...the only daft question is the one you don't ask!

bigfish is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: boat rigs

If you are using a spoon, try a Delta sonic 8inches from the hook.
Don't ask why it has to be 8inches - it just has - OK!

Hi Smoothy,

Please tell me what line breaking strength do you use for making your flattie rigs. I was looking at making some of your flounder rigs.
Do you use Amnesia or which flourocarbon?

Re: boat rigs

ahh thanks dave for asking the question and smoothie for answering

confirmed my thoughts though..a boom long flowing trace some beads and sequins and away we go pingu!

i dunno why we need watch leads though too early in the season for me to get watch leads for nothing (i normally catch the crab lines that tourist throw in the harbour and pinch all the leads )
