| basic rough ground rig ok so there are several variations on this, but if distance not required and you expect to lose alot of gear this works well and is cheap ![]() the loop to loop for the week link can be done on any rig if needed ![]() dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives |

| Re: basic rough ground rig Ah, but that's where the bass are. One suggestion - the two upper loops have got to be as small as possible, otherwise one of them might snag. Geoff |

| Re: basic rough ground rig Using pebbles as weights! When fishing rocky areas where holding the bottom is not a problem I use pebbles. All you need is some 60lb mono and electrical tape to make disposable weights. Tie a loop in some heavy heavy mono (60lb +). Wrap the line around the pebble and pass one end of the loop back through its self to create a slip knot and tape it in place. I use a hook at the bottom of the trace to take the strain during the cast but when the weight hits the water slips off so I use some light mono (8-10lb) as weak link betwen the weight and trace so when it snags I loose only the weight.
